Isn’t it funny that
no matter what age you are you always tell people you are getting “old”. Sometimes
it is even other people telling you; I know I have been guilty of telling a 5
year old that they are nearly as old as me (emphasis on the
old, like I am the Crypt keeper), clearly that is not, nor ever will be the
case.
We all know that age
is relevant but sometimes I think we talk ourselves into being and acting older
than we really are. The digits that actually come along with us at any given
time in our lives do not need to reflect one step closer to the grave. They
could represent one step closer to wisdom, or one step further away from the
drama of adolescents or young adulthood. Not that there is anything wrong with
those stages of life but once you have been there, done that, you rarely want
to go back. When we do get the courage and stop to be in the moment, instead of looking back and panicking at how much of our life we have already lived, wouldn’t it be nice to run excitedly forward into all the mysteries that await us.

Here is something
one of our participants shared with us……….
To celebrate Growing older
When in
doubt, just take a small step.
Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present
Don't compare your life with others. You have no idea of what their journey is all about.
Just because you believe you are right, doesn't mean you are. Keep an opne mind.
No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
Frame every so-called disaster with these words... “In five years, will this matter?”
Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
Life isn't tied in a bow, but it is still a gift.
