Could I have done these things the day before? Absolutely, but like most things in my life, I put it off til another time. Now I am paying for that procrastination. I have to rewash my clothes and I have to suck up the fact that I just spent $45 so my car will attract more dust & dirt to stick to the rain spots. But you know what......I LOVE IT!!!!
I almost ran outside and did a little dance in my birthday suit (since now that was all I had to wear that was clean), but didn't want to shock the neighbours too much, so I just did a little jig of happiness inside the doorway.
It is such a lovely feeling, to be cool after days and days AND days of heat.
And the garden is starting to look so lush again. There are still some dry patches but the greenest is poking it's head out in patches here and there. I know we are not out of the woods yet with the hot days but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and I feel it in my bones that the cold Autumn days leading into Winter are just around the corner.

ReplyDeleteI hate the wet and the cold, and some times think I am wishing my life away waiting for the summer to come after we have such a long cold winter....I could really be a bear and hibernate. Now that would suit me, and no one would have to listen to me grizzle when I'm cold.
